A GREAT WAY TO
BUILD YOUR BUSINESS AND WAG THAT TAIL“Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, and filling an emptiness we didn’t ever know we had.”
– Thom Jones
WHO, WHAT, WHERE and WHY
WHO IS THE ‘DOGCAST’ FOR?
‘From Wags To Riches’, is what we call a ‘dogcast’ as opposed to a podcast, and it’s for dog lovers everywhere but specifically for dog related business owners and those perhaps aspiring to start one.
WHERE are we hoping to take your dear listener?
Look, the reality is many people rush into dog related businesses thinking it’s easy, and what appears quick easy money can quickly turn into anything but easy.
20% of small businesses fail in their first year, 30% by their second year, 50% by Year 5 and less than 30% make it to their 10th year in business.
Whether you’re starting out or taking your business to another level, to be successful you need a blend of skills, knowledge and expertise, as well as luck, not just for canines but for business and marketing, in order to turn your passion for pooches into pounds. This podcast aims to help you by providing some of the missing pieces of your jigsaw to start or grow, helping you turn your passion into a serious revenue generating business.
I know how important advice shared has been to me in the past. If I can help you grow your business to another level or to kick start one from scratch. and 10X your dreams in the process, to avoid mistakes that I and others have made, hey, there’s a good result.
WHAT will we be talking about?
This dogcast will be a blend of deep dives on specific topics, stories and laughter, as well as intimate and in-depth conversations with people who straddle the dog business world. I’ll be chatting with seasoned professionals and subject matter experts and I’ll ask them about how they got started, what they’ve learnt along the way; about their experiences, ideas, strategies, quick wins, and best tips – so we can learn from their success and their failures .
My mission is to help you be a better version of yourself with the knowledge and information we’re providing and by highlighting some of the Actual Action Steps you can start taking to improve your profitability.
WHY listen in?
As your host, Randle Stonier, and even though I’m an honorary doc(g), I’m not claiming to be an expert or a guru. Yes, I do have nearly 40 years of both business experience and loving dogs under my belt working for the likes as Sir Richard Branson from the Virgin Group. I’ve had some successes, but I also know at first-hand what it’s like to be fired, to be plagued by self-doubt and have my belief knocked when I lost an 11-year-old business and my home as a result. But I’m more than happy to talk about those moments if it helps others to avoid some sickening realities. And despite those set-backs, I bounced back as the co-founder (with my sister Mitch) of MyWaggyTails, a home boarding, home day-care and dog walking business, and as the founder of the Dog Business School. So you can bounce back from life’s knocks and hopefully be a better person for it.
Most importantly, I want to use the knowledge and experiences of my amazing guests and my own, as I hopefully tease out of them their nuggets to help you be a better version of yourself and to build a better business as a consequence.
What have you got to lose? You might even have loads to gain.
